When I was in China last year (2024), I came back with a new found joy that the ITF members can co-operate and work together, even when it involves separate INOs from different parts of China.

It is no secret and an ongoing headache in the ITF that members, dojangs and even INOs view each other as their competitors or foe rather than their allies or partners. This is a far cry from the "family" atmosphere as we profess.

Knowing this, I must confess I wondered how long the co-operation and camaraderie would last between the different groups in China.

I visited China again this August and was delighted that the co-operation was continuing and more solid than before.

The China Asia League Championship was successful and enjoyed on another level due to the concerted efforts of both INO presidents, Master Yang of Ling Bo and Mrs Choi of Beijing.

I thank them for making my stay in China meaningful and joyous.

It is my hope that the world will learn and follow this example of co-operation.

It is about time that TKD practitioners, especially the higher ranks, truly grow up.  The small minded jealousy and self promotion should be pointed out and corrected.  Turning a blind eye or being silent on wrongdoings is not an act of kindness but weakness and hypocracy.

I wait to see some real martial arts behaviour by our Masters.
