BackConcerning Nepal Earthquake

7th May 2015

At this time of sorrow President Choi of the ITF expressed his deepest condolences and his sympathy to the peoples of Nepal and their families. GM Nicholls also urged Master David Lau, President of the Hong Kong Original Taekwon-Do Council to provide assistance to the ITF members in Nepal and to start some fund raising activities in order to provide immediate and urgent help to peoples of Nepal.

On behalf President Choi, Vice President Nicholls, and all of the ITF Master Lau instructed both the Hong Kong Original Taekwon-Do Council and the Malaysia Taekwon-do Administrative Council to do their very best in helping Nepal. Fund raising campaigns were started to provide emergency financial assistance and to support disaster relief work. Master Lau also made contact with ITF Nepal for coordinating and arranging the collected donation to be sent to Nepal on an urgent basis.

During the past few days Master Lau arranged some relief supplies such as medical mask to be sent to Kathmandu, capital of Nepal through a charitable organization. He also made contact with the local social service department through his friend in Nepal Amod Rai and donated 50 coffins to assist  with a kind and meaninful removal of the deeased.

In this difficult time our hearts go out to the peoples of Nepal and let us pray for them. May all casualties rest in peace and may the survivors and rescuers have the strength to carry on.
