On Friday, 26th of May 2026, the Herat Province ITF Taekwon-Do Federation held a competition to select the Herat ITF Taekwon-Do Provincial Team members. The event was held in the gymnasium of the Herat Province and attended by dozens of competitors from different dojangs and associations.  The Physical Education, Sports and Olympic Directorate of the said province supported the event.

A total of 55 competitors competed in different weight and age categories. As a result, Ehsan Safi Dojang got the 1st place by winning 11 gold medals, Etehad-e-Gozarah Dojang came in 2nd with 7 gold medals, and Ashiq-e-Razm Dojang got the 3rd position with 3 gold medals. Mohammad Owais Shuja Azami from Ehsan Safi Dojang, won the title of the Champion of Champions. Out of 55 competitors, 21 fighters were selected for the Herat Provinial Team.

The warm presence of Mr. Mufti Abdul Rahim Rahmani, the Honorable Director of Physical Education, Sports and Olympic Directorate of Herat Province; Mr. Aminullah Achakzai, Director of Non-Olympic Sports; Mr. Maulvi Wakil Ahmad Ajami, Deputy Director of Physical Education, Sports and Olympics in Herat Province, and Mr. Mohammad Ismail Azad, Director of Communications and Public Awareness of the said department, gave encouragement and positive motivation to all of the participants. The event was covered and broadcasted by Salam Hamwatan network and Meraj World TV channels.

It is worth mentioning that Afghan Taekwon-Do Association team played a very important role in the organization and running of the event.
