INO # 239 is proud to announce that ITF Taekwon-Do has replaced the physical education program at a private school in Canada. This program is facilitated by Master Troy El Bey, who has worked diligently for the past year establishing the foundation of the program.

The pilot program began in the winter of 2024 when Master El Bey was introduced to the Principal of Tall Pines Academy. Some behavioral issues were being observed by the staff that needed to be addressed.
The introductory program ran for twelve weeks, from October to December. We often see in ITF Taekwon-Do the unexpected benefits of the principles within our tenets. Parents and beginner students begin with a purely athletic or fitness focus, but then get exposed to "Do'.

The program had an immediate effect, surpassing all expectations. The school's principal expressed his pleasure and surprise at how immediately the children, ranging from ages 5 to 10 years old, responded in such a positive way to the structure and discipline of ITF Taekwon-Do training.
He, along with a staff member, decided to register to begin training and bring their children as well.
The decision was made to extend the program in 2025.

Master El Bey was invited to do a brief workshop with the staff after witnessing the level of discipline the students were capable of under his guidance, aimed at exploring the methods used to command the class environment for students of different ages.
He was also asked to work with students outside of the program with behavioral challenges to help realign their conduct in accordance with the expectations of the academy, with great success.

In 2026, Tall Pines Academy will have fully incorporated ITF Taekwon-Do into the School curriculum for approximately 190 students. The first progress report cards have been circulated with ITF Taekwon-Do as part of the scholastic study curriculum for grades one through five.

President Choi has expressed his pleasure and approval of ITF Taekwon-Do being promoted in such an environment, exposing parents and educators alike to the benefits of ITF training, while playing a role in shaping our youth for the future!
