Taekwon-Do Master Class Brings High-Level Training to Aurora
Aurora, CO — May 3, 2025 — Taekwon-do students from across the United States brought their energy and love of practice to the Beck Recreational Center in Aurora, Colorado for an intensive Master Class led by Master Suzan Crochet, 8th Dan.
The four-hour Master Class included participants of all ages and belt ranks, eager to refine their technique under the guidance of one of the art’s most respected instructors. The seminar not only provided advanced technical training but also fostered camaraderie among students across schools and from a wide geographic area.
The seminar focused on two cornerstone elements of Taekwon-do: fundamental footwork for sparring and advanced specialty kicking techniques. Master Crochet emphasized the importance of precision, balance, and timing—skills that form the foundation of effective jumping kicks. Her instruction combined detailed technical breakdowns with live demonstrations, offering both theoretical and practical insight.
“If you want to improve you can’t just move or train; you must practice with intention.”
Participants were led through progressive drills designed to build agility and spatial awareness, followed by instruction in a variety of specialty kicks used across the ITF in tournaments. Master Crochet provided personalized corrections and feedback throughout, ensuring that students had access to actionable improvements.
Maum Sin Yong Taekwon-do, a school led by Dr. Karen Kramer, 6th Dan, organized and hosted the class. They were central to coordinating logistics and outreach for the event. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Kramer and Mrs. Diana Hansen for their work in ensuring the event ran smoothly. The event underscored the growing Taekwon-Do community and the value of high-level continuing education in the martial arts.
