Greetings from ITF India !!

The 99th, ITF IIC was organised in India from 14th to 15th September 2019,at the Kannur University Indoor Stadium, Kannur, Kerala - India.This mega event of the first IIC in India,was jointly hosted by Federation Of Indian Taekwon-Do (MO-377) & Association Of Indian Taekwon-Do (MO-585)

We are very grateful to Grand Master Trevor Nicholls for accepting our humble invitation to preside this IIC in India.

Grandmaster Trevor Nicholls,Master Yogi Chand,Mr.Mark Richards from England,along with the Hartsok couple arrived at the Calicut International airport on the 13th, September 2019, early in the morning and were welcomed by Mr.Radhakrishnan PR, President- Federation Of Indian Taekwon-Do & Mr K.Venugopalan, President - Association Of Indian Taekwon-Do.
GM Trevor Nicholls,Master Chand and the accompanying guests were escorted by road to reach Hotel KBC Green Park,where the accomodation was pre arranged.
The distinguished guests were welcomed by senior members of the ITF India family.

As scheduled, the next day i.e.,14th of September all participants were transported from the hotel to the IIC Venue,by bus arranged by the event organisers and reached the venue at 8:45 am.There were 117 Black belts & 67 colour belts in attendance.

The Chief Guest for the IIC, was Mr.Vijay   (The Deputy Inspector General Of Police,Kerala)who arrived at 9:00 am,and after his introductory speech declared the IIC event open.GM Nicholls addressed the participants with a short speech.The IIC started with a warm session by Mr.N.Safi of Afghanistan after which GM Nicholls & Master Yogi Chand,took control.
Starting from the basic stances & techniques, each movement was personally demonstrated to the participants by GM Nicholls & Master Chand, explaining even the finer aspect relating to the body posture, stances and the effective way of generating & transmitting power to the techniques.
After about three hours of training we had a short break for the much awaited photographic session.The training was resumed after the photo session and continued till 2:00 pm.After a continuous training session of five hours the participants disbursed for the day & proceeded for lunch which was arranged in the stadium itself.The buses brought the participants to the hotel ,this marked a day of fatigue & perspiration for the attendees.

The following day, the 15th,of September, was no different.All participants assembled at the venue, in anticipation of another exciting session by the Grandmaster - the authority in ITF Taekwon-Do & from the 'Power House' of endurance & energy - Master Yogi Chand .The warm up session was taken by Mr.K.Venugopalan & thereafter,GM Nicholls started the session with Tuls. Chonji, the first Tul was explained for all the 19 movements followed by other Tuls in the ascending order,upto the 5 Dan Tuls.The participants took great interest and were focused thoroughly on the teachings being imparted by Master Chand & GM Nicholls.The session included corrections of the participants & the actual application of movements in the various patterns along with its terminology.
The second dày of the IIC,too concluded with a grueling five hour training,but not before GM Nicholls finished his talk on the five tenets of Taekwon-Do ,explaining the actual meaning of each tenet with valid examples.
After lunch the participants once again proceeded to the accomodation.

In the evening,there was a small get together of the members of the ITF India family, to celebrate the birthday of our loved GM Trevor Nicholls , some of the members danced to Indian film songs & a few others sang songs .

The IIC, also had a grading slot for 4 Dan & 6 Dan testing,under the able observation of GM Nicholls & Master Yogi Chand.

I, on behalf of the entire ITF India family,would like express our deepest gratitude to Grand Master Trevor Nicholls & Master Chand for contributing their very valuable time to attend and make this IIC, successful.In addition ITF India is grateful that Mr.Richards - UK, & the Hartsoks from Germany were in attendance.
