Hi,

In Choi Yong movements #2 and #4 is it deemed technically correct retract the arm after the strike, more like a snapping motion to the strike or, to leave it extended like a normal punching motion. On researching the movements I have seen it done both ways. Examples below.

Also the movement, narani so sonbadak golcho makgi followed by kaude ap joomuck, after the hooking block do we use the traditional method of punching? as in moving the punching had forward relaxed then moving it backwards to gain momentum for the strike. Again I have seen it performed both ways, even though all movements must begin with a backward motion.

Any clarifications are appreciated!

Mr. Mackey

The arm does not retract after the strike in movement #2 and #4.
As far the the punch is concerned after the hooking block, yes there is a slight backward motion before executing the punch.
I hope his helps.

Yes....Thanks Master Rai and Mr. Mackey. I too wondered about the middle knuckle punch.
