KWANG-GAE is named after the famous Kwang-Gae-Toh-Wang, the 19th King of the Koguryo Dynasty, who regained all the lost territories including the greater part of Manchuria. The diagram represents the expansion and recovery of lost territory. The 39 movements refer to the first two figures of 391 A. D., the year he came to the throne. CHOONG-MOO was the name given to the great Admiral Yi Soon-Sin of the Lee Dynasty. He was reputed to have invented the first armoured battleship (Kobukson) in 1592, which is said to be the precursor of the present day submarine. The reason why this pattern ends with a left hand attack is to symbolize his regrettable death, having no chance to show his unrestrained potentiality checked by the forced reservation of his loyalty to the king. JOONG-GUN is named after the patriot Ahn Joong-Gun who assassinated Hiro-Bumi Ito, the first Japanese governor-general of Korea, known as the man who played the leading part in the Korea-Japan merger. 6th Mar 2007 Master Galaragga conducts Masterclass and ITF Umpire Course in Ireland
The Irish United Taekwon-Do Federation (IUTF) had the honour of hosting the Head of the ITF Umpire Committee, Master Nestor Galarraga, VIII Dan, at the end of November in Cork City. Master Galarraga first conducted a special seminar on sparring, which was attended by well over 100 black belts.

7th Feb 2007 The International Irish Championships, Cork City
This year’s International Irish Championships was organised by the Irish United Taekwon-Do Federation (IUTF) and it proved to be Ireland’s largest Taekwon-Do competition ever with over 700 entrants. The event has become one of the premier annual competitions on the European calendar which a huge foreign contingent now regularly attending each year.

11th Dec 2006 First Hong Kong Cyberport Cup
A new ITF local championship was founded this year with the holding of the first Cyberport Cup in the Cyberport shopping mall on Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. The event was presided over by Master Chew of Malaysia who accompanied the visiting teams to the event and was sponsored jointly by Cyberport, who hosted the event, and Adidas, who provided the sparring equipment. The event is intended to become an annual fixture.

7th Dec 2006 IUTF Host Master Maidana Workshops
Master Jose Maidana traveled to Ireland in October for 15 days in order to conduct a series of workshops around the country. The trip was hosted by the Irish United Taekwon-Do Federation and it was the second time that the well respected Master has traveled to the country as guest of the IUTF.

16th Nov 2006 A Great Review of the Cycle of Taekwon-Do (Soonhwan Do)
On November 11, 2006, Special Assistant to President Choi, ITF Treasurer, ITF Technical Committee Member, and VI Degree Black Belt, Mr. Parm Rai, traveled to All-Star Taekwon-Do in Fairfield, New Jersey (USA), to conduct a 4.5-hour ITF workshop. Participants ranked from yellow belts through 6th degree black belts and traveled from 4 states (Nevada, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania) to train with Mr. Rai.
