Women's Self Defense Seminar on Keesler Air Force Base

Air Force organization hosts Mr. Michael Munyon, US-ITF Armed Forces Director and 5th degree black belt.  Members of the Rising VI (Ranks E-1 Airman Basic to E-6 Technical Sergeant) invited Mr. Michael Munyon, member of the 81st Security Forces Squadron, to instructor his popular Womens Self-Defense seminar at Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, MS.  Approximately 30 military women, dependent wives and young teens from the Mississippi Gulf Coast attended this 4 hour seminar.  Mr. Munyon taught a variety of techniques ranging from striking, joint manipulations and weapon disarming techniques. 

The seminar was held at the Keesler Air Force Base Youth Activities Center gymnasium and began promptly at 10:00 am.  Everyone who attended stated that it was a great self-defense seminar and that they felt more confident due to the new techniques they had learned.  Several of the women who attended this seminar were repeat students from previous Womens Self-Defense seminars taught by Mr. Munyon.

Assisting Mr. Munyon during this seminar was Air Force Staff Sergeant Stephen Hicks (81 Security Forces Training Section) and seven and a half year old Ms. Hannah VanSlyke, Yellow Belt with Green Stripe Student of Mr. Munyon and daughter of Major Jeffrey VanSlyke and Susan VanSlyke.
