BackITF Master Class Trevor Nicholls and the 3rd Inter-School ITF Taekwon-Do Invitation Tournament 2012

The Hong Kong Original Taekwon-Do Council would like to wish all ITF members a Happy New Year!

After months of preparation and planning the ITF Master Class Trevor Nicholls and the 3^rd Inter-School ITF Taekwon-Do Invitation Tournament 2012, organized by the Hong Kong Original Taekwon-Do Council, were successfully held on 29 and 30 December 2012 respectively.

On 28 December Friday, Master Trevor Nicholls, 8^th Dan, Secretary General of the ITF and Master Daniel Sng, 7^th Dan, President and Singapore Representative arrived at the Hong Kong Internatinoal Airport and were welcomed by members of the Hong Kong Original Taekwon-Do Council. Welcome dinner was then held in the Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel in Tuen Mun.

The ITF Master Class was held on the following day on 29 December Saturday in the afternoon at Tai Hing Community Hall, Tuen Mun. There were over 100 Taekwon-Do students participated in the intensive training with Master Trevor Nicholls being the chief instructor, accompanied by Master Daniel Sng and Master David Lau, 7^th Dan, President of the Hong Kong Original Taekwon-Do Council. Master Trevor Nicholls delivered different exercises about basic techniques and movements while some attacking and blocking kicks and techniques were emphasized during the class. Group photos were taken after the class and certificates were presented to several degree holders.

The day ended with a dinner with our masters and coaches from different affiliations. It was a warm and delightful evening in which we had cosy and friendly talks with our honorable guests.

The Tournament was held on 30 December Sunday with around 250 participants and over 400 spectators, family and friends witnessed this spectacular event. We were pleased to invite Master Trevor Nicholls, Master Daniel Sng, Master David Lau and coaches from the Hong Kong Original Taekwon-Do Council as our honorable guests. Four rings were heated up immediately after the opening ceremony with excellent skills and techniques being displayed in front of the masters. Individual and team patterns together with power-breaking were held in the morning session.

The prize giving ceremony for the morning session was held at around 12:00 noon. Master Trevor Nicholls as our guest of honor delivered an enlightened speech to all participants. Prizes for pattern and power-breaking were then awarded to winners by our masters and coaches.

Matches for sparring were held in the afternoon in which the participants had all demonstrated their skillful sparring techniques. A high level of sportsmanship was showed during the Tournament. The Tournament was then concluded by the prize giving ceremony for the afternoon session by our coaches.

The Hong Kong Original Taekwon-Do Council would like to take this opportunity to thank you again Master Trevor Nicholls, Master Daniel Sng and Mr. Andrew Kung for their great support in the events. Students were honored with the visit of Master Trevor Nicholls and eager for his return in the coming future.
