Mr. Najmuddin Safi, President of Afghan Taekwon-Do Association, and ITF Official Representative for Afghanistan conducted Black-Belt grading in Kabul on May 17, 2012.

Eight members of ATA lined up for the grading. The grading started at 5pm and lasted till 9pm. The grading was inclusive of all ITF Taekwon-Do disciplines such as Patterns, Sparring, Step-Sparring, Self-Defense, Power Breaking, Special Techniques, Basic Kicks, and Flying Kicks. As part of the grading, each practitioner was assigned to write a short thesis about ITF Taekwon-Do, its advantages and role in promoting peace and unity among Afghans. The were also tasked to incorporate their views and insights on how to promote this art in our county and make it more publicized.

The practitioners preformed very well and could meet the satisfaction of the Examiner. As a result, 4 were promoted to I Degree, 2 were promoted to II Degree, 2 were promoted to III Degree Black-Belts. Their Degree Certificates will be issued by ITF.
