I am currently preparing for my 3rd degree, (spring 2010) and have upped my training schedule to 6 days on followed by 1 rest day, then repeat.
My question is this: I am becoming very interested in body building and I am currently using a spilt routine. I have noticed a huge change in body shape and strength. Studying the TKD manual, under Dosoo Dallyon it is stated that "calisthenics are far more beneficial than weightlifting"
So am I, by lifting heavier and heavier weights, slowing down my Taekwon Do techniques?
Any views on the benefits of body building in Taekwon Do and the possible downside would be most appreciated.
