Hi Jeff,

Just returned from the Europeans, i can confirm that there are only Junior and Senior World Championships. As stated in a previous thread we introduced a Veteran section in Birmingham (UK) in 2007, which was held at the same venue but classed as a separate event, much like the Kup Championships.

At a recent meeting with Master Galarraga he confirmed the officially recognised sections for the World, European and Pan American etc are Juniors (13 - 17) and Seniors 18+ Black Belts.

This does not stop the host from organising other sections such as Veterans or Colour Belts to run at the same event, but these are not Official recognised ITF titles. The next World Championships will be held toward the end of July in South Korea, We will have to wait for the official schedule to see if they are also holding a Veteran Event.

Hope that helps

Welcome home from this year's European Champs.
When can we see complete Champs results posted on this site?
Thank you, Sir.

Hi Sir,

Thank you for the information. Really hope the dates are fixed in stone for those of us who are trying to get lower airfares by booking early. The IX Junior and XV Senior World Championships promise to the undisputed combination event of the year. PS: Any seminar or course, such as an umpire's course (in my case), in conjunction with the championships would also be welcomed. Would save making a separate trip elsewhere. The organizer could simply provide a facility. Just food for thought.

Hi Sir,

Umpire Course could be a refresher in any ballroom or the basement of the official hotel. Course does not have to be resource-intensive. For example, the Umpires Course needs only Master Galarraga or his representative. Hotels have unused corners. Taekwon-Do, no matter how spelled, is one of Korea's world exports. Surely, hotel management would be glad to accommodate. Hope Master Galarrag checks this Forum.
